regards the requirement:

- SurgeMail GW receives all mails, must verify all recipients and reject bad recipients immediately (Reject, not re-bounce philosophy)

can I realize it on the gateway per LDAP query too? I am a littern bit concerned here because mail server normaly do not verify reciepients when fallback to relay. They simple relay it to the next host (hence open for back-scatter spam)

 

Or must I authenticate per LDAP query first, then get the appropiate destination for each recipient?

Please advise on the optimal configuration for such "local mailbox on gateway " secenario.
