Not quite "production ready" yet in my opinion, but definitely time to start providing feedback if you are interested.
In order to try it out, install the latest specials build (6.1e-10+) and add the setting:
new_calendar true
at the level of any of the surgeweb config_*.dat files or in the _user.dat of individual accounts you want to enable the new calendar on. This can be enabled independently from the use of existing surgeplus calendaring within surgeweb.
It is at the stage of "Quite usable" and with a little work on my part (which will definitely be spurred along by some more feedback) should be production ready in pretty short order.
Just make sure that anyone using it at this stage is aware it is still prerelease, and let me know how you go, and offer suggestions on what you would like to see working / fixed next :-)

Ah, probably also worth while to make sure the sabredav php code is uptodate by pressing the "Update Current Install" button on the Calendar Sync page of the admin interface as there were some minor tweaks there recently which you may not have yet.
