the inability to create a new folder in the sequence you are using, may be from:
while tellmail will "create" the user and save the password, the directory structure is not created until
a) the user/account logs-in for the first time
b) a messages is received addressed to this account/userid
We typically send a boiler-plate welcome message to this new user after creating a user.

Hello, Surgemail List!
Version is:
SurgeMail Version 6.1c-1, Built Jun 6 2012 21:15:18, Platform
Linux_64 (Surgeweb Enabled)
New to surgemail, have set up 1000 mailboxes for the sales department
(hypothetical.)
No mail has been deposited in this mailbox, it was just created and
I'm testing to see that the password is correct.
This and the other mailboxes were created with this command as the root user:
tellmail add_user sales987 Pa%%w0rd
When running a standard telnet IMAP test, shown below, should I be
concerned about the errors in lines 11, 13, 15, and 17 ? If so, how
to remedy?
telnet mail01.surgemail.example.com 143
1 Connected to mail01.surgemail.example.com
2 Escape character is '^]'.
3 * OK IMAP (C) mail01.internal.domain.example.com (Version 6.1c-1)
4 a login sales987 Pa%%w0rd
5 a OK login completed
6 b list "" *
7 * LIST () "/" "INBOX"
8 * LIST () "/" "Spam"
9 b OK LIST completed
10 c select sales987
11 c NO [TRYCREATE] failed Folder (sales987) does not exist
12 d status sales987
13 d BAD Want list of required data
14 d status sales987 (MESSAGES)
15 d NO [TRYCREATE] Folder (sales987) does not exist
16 d status sales987 (UNSEEN)
17 d NO [TRYCREATE] Folder (sales987) does not exist
18 Connection closed by foreign host.
Thanks for any suggestions.
Keith
