No, it stops queued email going out, it has no affect on incoming email,
and nothing in the queue is for local users.
ChrisP.
It means they need to wait another 2 minutes to get their email.

Sorry I don't understand how it relates to people reading email.
ChrisP.
Thanks for clarifying. Two minutes is a long time when you have hundreds
of people POPing messages every 5 minutes. =)

No it will stop messages from being started that are not already sending,
wait 2 minutes to allow active messages to finish first.
ChrisP.
Does “tellmail suspend” immediately halt all messages that are currently
being sent such that “tellmail delete_contains” will catch everything, and
then we can do a “tellmail resume”?

Frank

Good question, yes:
tellmail suspend
(followed by tellmail resume)
ChrisP.
is there a command to stop all outbound email so an admin has time to
clean up the queues?

Why didn’t it get them all the first time through?

to delete queue entries containing that account name.
It is most likely a hacker is sending with the account and changing the
password is probably the best thing to do. Inspecting the ip addresses used to
send should determine for sure.
