Well, I think I have it working.

The paste worked but clicking "save" did not result in the certificate being saved. So, I copied the file to the ssl directory, restarted surgemail and all seems okay now.

This was with latest Firefox 3.6.13 on Suse 11.3 Linux to Surgemail latest on Solaris 10.
