Re: [SurgeMail List] Nagios plugins and cacti for surgemail?

Nope. Good idea though. There are graphs in the reports for this, would be interesting if we could somehow parse the data out of the rrd's... Looks like it doesn't use rrd's just perflogs and uses cgi to build the graph. (I could be wrong though) Those are clear text logs with the stats. Several methods could be used to get the data but with Cacti you'd need Netwin to basically build a MIB to plug into SNMP for Linux, and doze to allow it to be probed via SNMP. Otherwise you'll need a plugin installed on the server itself and use NRPE or something similar to phone home the information for Nagios.
Sounds like a lot of work. But it is a good idea to get some sort of alerting going to notify us of any sort of queue threshold being breached.

[SurgeMail List] Nagios plugins and cacti for surgemail?
Before I potentially re-invent the wheel
Has anyone written any Nagios plugins for Surgemail, in particular
monitoring the number of messages in the mail queue
Also cacti graphing of mail queue numbers?
Thanks
Peter
