I've just been running tests, and there definitely seems to be an issue (well multiple actually) here I can repeat but they have nothing to do with surgemail or the surgemail calendar fix last November so as it stands trying to tweak surgemail versions will not help.
I assume it is the osx "Calendar" app you are using rather than "iCal" which no longer seems to exist on my El Capitan system?
The issues I can repeat currently on my system:
- The Calendar application has stopped applying the port setting on the account, so you it looks like you can only use the default web and https ports now.
- The Calendar application is using a syntax of the MKCALENDER command that the version of sabredav installed with surgemail does not understand.
Anyway... those are interim test results. Am investigating further (debugging and googling), let me know if others have relevant observations on the matter.

This issue from Nov17/2015 seems to be back - unable to add or delete cals from iCal on El Capitan latest version. Running latest build 64bit 7.1e
Tried reverting back to 6.9 and 7.1e and no joy, does not work either in latest build 7.1f (64bit linux Centos 6.7).
