Surgeweb by default will "check with imap for new messages in a folder" no more frequently than once every 15 seconds I believe it is for efficiency reasons, regardless of how frequently you press the folder's link in surgeweb. If you accessed a folder in some way and you want to see a messages that were placed in the folder less than 15 seconds ago then you can right click the folder and press refresh folder. If the issue covers a time span longer than this, let us know. One thing you could try is the setting "options - preferences - advanced - extra imap refreshes". This should not normally be necessary, but when using multiple mail clients concurrently this will get surgeweb to do additional checks for changes and may help. Let us know how you go thanks.
