SurgeMail will use any and all DNS server(s) you configure.

If you list Google’s DNS in g_dns_host, at least some of your RBL lookups will go through Google.

Since the public, free DNS-based service of zen.spamhaus.org is rate-limited, RBL lookups through Google DNS will fail.

For rate-limited RBL sources like Spamhaus to work, you need to point SurgeMail DNS exclusively at recursive DNS servers you control, and make sure they aren’t being used for RBL by other MTAs that might put you over the rate-limit threshold.
