Hmm.... system freezes are unusual and in theory should not be possible for an application to cause, but, stranger things have happened... So the likely causes are
1) It's unrelated to surgemail and simply a cooincidence. e.g. hardware issue, faulty memory etc...
or 2) It's a resource issue (memory/cpu/disk/threads...) and then surgemail using up the resource could trigger the freeze...
The most likely one is memory /thread usage, so use top or equivalent and keep an eye on the system, see if the memory/cpu/threads... or anything major is 'growing' in usage over time. If possible keep a monitor open./running so you can check it when the system has frozen.
Also check the system event log (/var/log/messages on linux I can't remember where it is on osx)
Good luck, and let me know if you find anything.

I installed SurgeMail 5.2 onto my MAC OSX 10.6. It has frozen my entire system 3 times in the last week. Not sure which logs would help isolate the problem, otherwise I would have posted them here. Any suggestions for a starting point? Sorry for the limited details.
