You can do that quite easily with a script and just move the messages by file date to other folders. If you wanted to get fancy you could scan the headers and do some magic with that info if you wanted. Just fire the script off on a cron job every so often. It goes without saying that the POP client would have to be configured to leave email on the server. And there's a down side to that if they accumulate a lot of email in the "inbox". --Ed On 03/16/2011 10:36 PM, Samantha wrote: > Understand but would be great if you could export from pop > imap on > a date basis > > Ie move to imap all messages before 1/1/2010 > > If they need something then they can allways go to webmail J > > *From:*Lyle Giese [mailtoHIDDEN@crcomputer.info] > *Sent:* Wednesday, 16 March 2011 11:01 PM > *To:* surgemailHIDDEN@etwinsite.com > *Subject:* Re: [SurgeMail List] Re Archiving Mail > > Archiving should work as POP only uses the Inbox folder. > > The downside is that they would have to access the archived email via > IMAP or Surgemail. > > Lyle > > Tom Cross wrote: > > Hi > Marijn was looking into a suggestion I had earlier \ > IE Rolling all folders into 6 monthly sections or whatever is a > manageable size....???? > > /Tom Cross > Partner (Synergist) > HTMLnet > 61 2 9288 9488 > 0418 295 336 >HIDDEN@tml.com.au <mailto:tomc@html.com.au> > > > / > > * > > On Wednesday 16/03/2011 at 14:58:40, Samantha wrote: * > <http://www.html.net.au/> > > *They are using pop* <http://www.html.net.au/> > > ** <http://www.html.net.au/> > > ** <http://www.html.net.au/> > > *From: Kevin Gagel [mailtoHIDDEN@cnc.bc.ca] > Sent: Wednesday, 16 March 2011 3:31 AM > To: surgemailHIDDEN@etwinsite.com > Subject: Re: [SurgeMail List] Re Archiving Mail* <http://www.html.net.au/> > > ** <http://www.html.net.au/> > > *If they're using IMAP then there is no need to be concerned about > spending half a day downloading.
