There is no queue. The process is spawned while the message is arriving. I'm guessing you are using the mfilter rule for spawning, that method is single threaded, a single one is processed at a time. (If instead you used a delivery robot redirection rule then it wouldn't be single threaded, but the same limit applies - see below) So the answer is really how many threads can you have waiting in the smtp delivery state, on a typical system you can have a thousand (you may need to bump a couple of max threads and max smtp settings to get that, the default will be more like 100) ChrisP.
