Yeah I tested it and it does work. I suspect this mailing list is stripping images.

One thing you should be able to do already though, is to have the image hosted on your webserver. Then edit your signature in html and add an image tag pointing at the webserver. I have not actually tried it myself yet but will when I get a spare moment (probably not today). Let us know how that goes.
