I am looking at moving my server(s) from the current location to a colo. The colo provides a number of enhancements along with a drastic reduction in my costs, which is always a very good thing. They are a Mac based operation and will include the "rental" of a mini in the cost. They are providing a 2.4 ghz Core 2 mini with 2gb of RAM and a 320 HD running 10.6.8 In order to make this work, I will need to put my SurgeMail and my webhosting on the same machine. My daily traffic is in the area of about 6500 visitors on the web, and around 10,000 visits to the mail server. My questions are: Does anyone have any experience with running Surgmail and Apache on the same box? If I clone the Surgmail to the new box, is there any grace period while running both to check for problems? They do not provide backup, but will "rent" me space for a USB powered drive for $15/month. Is there an online option that will do my backups and allow for quick rebuild if needed? Any other suggestions or advice would be welcome.
