Generally, I would swap them over at some point (probably best to do it now while the other server doesn't exist) , just stop both, change the slave/master setting, and restart. The only difference is the master runs the mailing lists, the slave doesn't (this avoids some nasty complexity) So really it doesn't actually matter when both are running you can leave it if you wish.
