I don't know why they would specifically choose to leave mail on the server for such a long time when using POP3. Just seems daft to me except when they are away for example. I leave mine on the server when using iPhone but then remove from the server when my main machine checks email. I actually prefer POP3 over IMAP but that's unrelated to this ;)

The clients are insisting that this is a server issue and therefore something I need to address hence the post. I have convinced them to only leave mail on the server for a week or two which they have agreed to.
