After three years of using the same version. I upgraded Surgemail last month 
and it went without any
problems at all. In fact I don't think it took me more than 5 minutes 
including changing the recommended settings.
Obviously after that I had to read up on some of the added features but all 
in all unbelievably problem free.

I spent time checking out the Ajax webmail and what it does it does very 
well and no doubt it is on the way to be a great implementation of webmail 
but it lacks any support for multiple accounts,
multiple Signatures, multiple Reply to or any Surgemail alias features. If 
your users don't need these then SurgeWeb is great but if they do I would 
suggest you try RoundCube.
