The mac email client is somewhat more prone to odd issues like this :-)..  (I'm not saying it's at fault, just that it is sensitive to minor imap protocol variations).   

 

Well obviously  surgemail is a real imap server and has passed more imap conformance tests than most other imap servers on the market.   This may be a bug in surgemail, or a fault in the mac client, or it may even be both ends are correct but not coping with an odd situation 'nicely'. 

 

To try and resolve can you zip/tar up the problem message files directly from the users sent folder 

    tellmail path HIDDEN@omain 

    cd (path)/mdir 

    tar -cvf mailbox.tar Sent/MESSAGE Sent/Messsage2 

 

Then  send me mailbox.tar and I can work on the problem here, and hopefully reproduce the issue. 

 

Also let me know which version of surgemail you are on.
