In the received messages folders I see
*.log 
*.rec
*.dat   there are files in the Surgemail folder that have .dat on them  would excluding them pose a problem?


Also I see many ini_xxxxx.rec files in the Surgemail folder also. would they need to be saved?

You mentioned I could skip anyfiles that start with a �u�
But there are some files like 
uid-Drafts.dat
uid-Trash.dat
user_vars.dat

most of the files are formatted like so u49058~2,S(0,15000)[1386167196]
Trying to see if  something like   �  u*)[  �          would be functional.. it would get all files that start with �u�  but require  that   �)]�  parenthesis and bracket    follow 
I�m not positive on the syntax if that would work.
