Thanks, that sounds like it can work. I'll give it a try.

I'm assuming if I renamed the vdomain as you suggested, I will still be
able to send emails to the actual domain (while the client hasn't
migrated to my server yet)? I'm asking because I have the "check local
first" option enabled, so mail doesn't need to go out and then back in,
if I host those domains.
