You had to remind me..... Not only is it hard for a ligit mailserver to get off their list. (If I remember correctly - it was in the dial-up days) We got on their list not because they received spam from our server, but because a "known" spammer had a website that had in their domain registry listing an admin email address from our domain.... ----- Original Message ----- From: "Frank Bulk" HIDDEN@mypremieronline.com> To: <surgemailHIDDEN@etwinsite.com> Sent: Wednesday, October 20, 2010 6:44 PM Subject: RE: [SurgeMail List] SORBS Please don't use SORBS unless it's just a small part of your scoring system. Read NANOG or mailops if you want to hear the pain of good people trying to get off of SORBS' lists Frank -----Original Message----- From: Lyle Giese [mailtoHIDDEN@crcomputer.info] Sent: Thursday, October 07, 2010 6:39 PM To: surgemailHIDDEN@etwinsite.com Subject: [SurgeMail List] SORBS I don't know if anyone here uses SORBS or not.(I only use a subset of their lists, handpicked and cached locally) Apparently last night or yesterday(depending on your time zone), they had a database issue and was sending out bad data. If you are using a local copy of their data, it's important you do a full download of their data and replace the datasets you have. Their 'delta' system is not enough to cover this one from what I have seen. As a result their website has been unusually slow, but it is working. The rsync downloads are working normally.
