Doing an import of a vcard file in the contacts - more actions - 
import should work to import vcard files in any of the 5.x surgemail 
builds. (I have been planning to add easy access to this from vcard 
attachments but have not actually gotten to implementing that yet as a 
standalone feature)

There is no way to import vcalender items currently sorry.
